EUROPEA Austria is an association to promote agricultural training. By presenting this homepage, EUROPEA-Austria aims on the one hand to show agricultural training in Austria to other EU states and on the other hand to enable Austria's agricultural instructors a direct contact with training institutions in the EU. Supported by EUROPEA International this network of homepages should finally contain information about all relevant agricultural institutions within the EU.

EUROPEA Austria represents almost 50 land-based schools on medium and higher level in 7 of the 9 regions of Austria. Most of the VET training institutions are in rural areas, and act as centres for rural development. Besides being teachers, principals or representatives of Chambers of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture, members of EUROPEA Austria participate in curriculum development; provide teaching and learning material and work in advisory services for farmers. Adult education for farmers and people in the rural areas has always played an important role, too. Moreover, placements for trainers and students abroad are promoted by EUROPEA Austria and facilitated through various projects. The often combined contacts with students, parents as well as farmers provide a sound background to the qualifications needed in the land-based sector.

Together with the Rural Youth association (department of Chamber of Agriculture; member of EUROPEA) EUROPEA Austria has organised various mobility projects for trainers as well as students in the land-based sector during the last years. Moreover, EUROPEA Austria has been a partner in various European projects, such as Thematic Network or Transfer of Innovation projects promoted by Leonardo da Vinci and has been involved as promoter or steering group member.

EUROPEA Austria was the coordinator of CHAVET and is a member of the COPCHAVET Steering Group; we participate in planning the project and co-writing the application. EUROPEA Austria is going to organise an Open School and participate in all the activities assigned to the partners.

We invite you to explore the EUROPEA homepages of all the countries of the EU and we are sure you will find all the information you need.
